"I am Addicted to Zina!" WHAT!?

Once, while checking my ask.fm I have received this question: “I am addicted to doing zina, any help?” I was surprised, very sad and happy at the same moment. I was very sad because there are some people among Muslims who are addicted to an act that many animals feels ashamed off, let alone being addicted to it? I felt happy because the one who asked knew it’s a mistake and he/she is looking for a help. First of all for those who don’t know what the term Zina means, I am quoting from Wikipedia: “Zina (Arabic: ‫زنا / ALA-LC: zinā) is generally defined by Islamic Law as unlawful sexual intercourse, i.e. intercourse between individuals who are not married to one another. This encompasses extramarital sex and premarital sex"

Now since you are asking for help, I would like to remind you that you should be grateful to God.  There is much that is good in you, God gave you opportunity to change which is why you asked for help. Don’t let this opportunity go away, beware of losing the reward for this goodness by having a bad end. As for the solution of your problem it starts with an awareness, you should be aware that Islam considers Zina a major sin. A great sin that Allah Almighty may punish you greatly in Hell. Translation of what Allah said in the Quran: “Nor come nigh to adultery: for it is a shameful (deed) and an evil, opening the road (to other evils)” Have a sincere heart to change, and start Repenting, you need to read this Repentance Post Also try to pray to God to guide you. Try to get married and also try fasting and do other good deeds, for once the good side prevails the devil shrinks.

Remember every time you want to do Zina, remember you are not alone, remember Allah is watching you. You might hide from people's eyes, from animals, from the stars and moon, but always remember Allah the greatest king, the Supreme God is watching you. Do you really love to be seen by your parents doing Zina!? do you love to be seen doing such act in public? in front of kids or old men? of course you would say no! Then why it's ok to do it when you understand and know certainly that Allah is watching you. Is this how you thank God for the all things he gave you. To disobey him while he is watching you.

Imagine yourself in a palace of a king, and he gave you everything you need, and he saw you steal, what do you think he would do ? will he forgive you? or he will punish you, or kick you out of his palace, or he might hate you, or he might be disappointed... This is in the case of a normal king in this world, can you imagine that you are doing something "Haram" a major sin, while Allah is watching you? don't you have 1% respect for your God? Ask your self, do you respect God only 1% ? Prove to Allah that you have faith in him and you know he is watching you, resist this desire and prove you are worthy to be considered a Muslim....

Let’s assume that most people’s faith are shadowed by lust and the materials of this world, but at least if you consider yourself a Muslim, for sure you understand one day you are going to die and after death, one day you will be resurrected? Imagine if your last moment in this life was on a bed committing this evil act? Do you like the people find your dead body naked, with an ugly pose? The best advice I can give for someone who is falling short in obeying Allah or doing something that earns the wrath of Allah is to remember that one day you are returning to Allah. You may be returned to God and he is pleased with you, or you may return with an act that made God angry.  God Said in the Quran: “And be afraid of the Day when you shall be brought back to Allah. Then every person shall be paid what he earned, and they shall not be dealt with unjustly"

Think about it. "Do you want to come out of your grave on the day when mankind is resurrected, holding onto your private part? Do you not see the great difference between this and between being resurrected remembering Allah?" It will be hard, but resist that evil temptation in your heart, whenever you are thinking of Zina remember the following verse: “And those who invoke not any other ilaah (god) along with Allaah, nor kill such person as Allaah has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse and whoever does this shall receive the punishment
