Greetings Reader, Here is another related topic to God’s Understanding and his mercy. When people see war, the strong killing the weak, the evil dominating the good, why God is not interfering!? How could he be mercy when he is not interfering? The answer to this question can be found in my previous post: “Understanding God” I have mentioned in a way that we human beings can never even dream to totally understand God and know all the reasons behind God works. Therefore, we can’t judge and claim God is not merciful. It’s not we who should decide, it’s only God. You can’t tell someone who is smarter, greater, far more knowing than you to do something when his knowledge and experience in planning is better than yours; his actions are perfect compared to yours. The chef can’t claim the engineering’s plan for the house is wrong or bad when the former doesn’t know anything about planning.
“Allah lets us choose the way we desire to live and gave us free will; if we abuse it then there will be consequences, but if we do what is right, then we will live a better life. It is also the duty of the righteous to stop those who are causing mischief since the result affects everyone”. Prophet Mohammed (Peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The example of the person abiding by Allah's order and restrictions in comparison to those who violate them is like the example of those persons who drew lots for their seats in a boat. Some of them got seats in the upper part, and the others in the lower. When the latter needed water, they had to go up to bring water (and that troubled the others), so they said, 'Let us make a hole in our share of the ship (and get water) saving those who are above us from troubling them. So, if the people in the upper part left the others do what they had suggested, all the people of the ship would be destroyed, but if they prevented them, both parties would be safe."
In fact when we are saying God should do this or do that… we are actually insulting God in a way even if we don’t want to admit it. In fact we are insulting ourselves in the process, by showing others to what extent our ignorant can grow. If we humans can’t accept other humans to tell us we should do this or that in a specific situation then how we are allowing ourselves to say such things about what God should do!? I am translating what God said in the Holy Quran “Say: Do ye know better than God?” every sane human knows the difference between a human and God, if you ask a kid, a learned adult, an old man, a farmer, if you ask them who knows more, you or God? You will not find a sane person among them saying he/she is smarter than God. One of great Muslim Scholars once said: “It is unimaginable for creation to be more merciful to itself than God!” The moment you will claim you are smarter and greater than God (If you believe in his existence and attributes) then you can say what God should do and shouldn’t do. However, the moment you will say that I guess you will find it’s very hard to find someone to debate with, because having a debate with such person with such mentality, proves both sides are on the same boat of ignorance.
